A lot of companies have discovered that the best way to cut down on costs is to hire people that work from their own homes. Outsourcing to other countries cuts down on the pay to employees and may even cut down on some of the costs of paying for the place of business, but they can make better profits by paying people to work out of there house where the only money that comes out of their pocket is pay. Working from home might not get you health benefits or set up your retirement for you, but you can make anywhere from $8 an hour up without even getting dressed. So how do you do it?

The option that has been around for many years is in the telemarketing and call center business. Usually the basic requirements are a land-line telephone and a quiet place to work. Some companies will ask you to choose the hours you are able to take calls while others will have you sign in on-line which signals that you are currently available and then sign out when you are done working. Pay can be for how long you are signed in for however most companies only pay per phone call so if there are no calls then there’s no money.

Working for on-line companies is better for people who don’t want to have a set time to work. A lot of on-line businesses require work such as articles, proofreading, and web design, all of which can be done on-line and whenever you want. Typically this type of work comes with deadlines so as long as you get it done in time you can actually do the work anytime you want. If you have a laptop, you don’t even have to get out of bed!
